Active Travel Fair comes to Kings Heath

12 to 5pm Sunday 18th July, York Road

Keen to cycle, walk or scoot but unsure how to start? Maybe you can’t figure out how to transport your kids, pets or shopping? Perhaps you’re nervous of the roads or feel cycling isn’t accessible to you? At the free Kings Heath Active Travel Fair, from 12-5pm on Sunday 18 July, York Road B14, you’ll find all the support and advice you need to get you and your family travelling around the area in ways that are healthy, sustainable and fun!

We’ll be showcasing game-changing gear – trailers, e-bikes, cargo bikes, child bike seats, adapted cycles for people with disabilities and more – some of which you’ll even be able to take for a spin.

Discover organisations who can help you learn to ride, get a ‘bike buddy’, fix your bike and find safe, scenic routes. Meet people campaigning to make walking and cycling the best choice for Brum. Event will be Covid secure, with activities for the kids to enjoy too! Confirmed so far:

  • Chris Coyle, Birmingham Bike Mayor
  • Bike Pro Racing, Kings Heath
  • Midland Mencap Parkride
  • The Active Wellbeing Society
  • Birmingham Connected
  • Cocycle
  • More than a Cyclist
  • Push Bikes
  • Possible
  • Nocomoto
  • Woodcraft Folk

More TBC, watch this space. Feel free to bring your own active travel set up to show others what can be done and a helmet if you’d like to wear one while trying out bikes. We will also provide some helmets on the day. This is a community-led event organised by Kings Heath residents in collaboration with The Active Wellbeing Society and Cocycle.
