Active Streets is an initiative from the Birmingham Wellbeing Service that provides you with the opportunity to close your road for a few hours at a time, turning your street into a safe, vibrant community space for you and your neighbours to come together, take ownership of your street and enjoy activities of your choice.

The Active Streets team advises and supports local organisers to arrange their own event.  Active Streets help residents to arrange road closures (Temporary Road Closure Orders), supports consultation organised by local residents, helps making practical arrangements on the day and can provide play leaders or ‘activiators’ and equipment needed for some sports, arts and other activities.  We are also in touch with an extensive network of City Council Services and other partners that can help your Street event.

Contact ActiveStreets@birmingham.gov.uk to find out more, or find out how to organise your event.
